all of the people who live here do not realize how much time has passed. they are all stuck in past internet aesthetic time periods, but to them it only feels like a few days have gone by. be careful what you say

The name of my project is "Gavdos." Influenced by the Odyssey's tale of the Lotus Eaters, who, after eating a lotus, would forget their life before arrival or even the reason they came to the island in the first place and desire only to remain among other lotus-eaters, "Gavdos" uses imagery of various internet trends on social media throughout the 2010s. By dividing up the content over several pages rather than all on one, the viewer can experience world-building and a variety of moods and emotions on each page. The way a website is navigated alters your unconscious depiction of it, and once you peruse the four rooms and get hit with the tsunamis of pixelated nostalgia, you'll be chewing on 8-bit lotus petals too.
